Channings Hotel, Edinburgh
Overview: Channings is a 4 star 41 bedroom boutique hotel located on a cobble stone street within walking distance of Edinburgh's city center and its many historical sites and attractions.
Channings opened in 1990 with the merging of five Edwardian town houses creating the feel of a Scottish country home, full of charming Victorian paintings, prints, books and memorabilia. One of the Channings' town houses was the home of the famous Antarctic explorer, Sir Ernest Shackleton. In his honour, the top-floor suites have been named after him and his fellow adventurers. The hotel is proud to display prints of photographs that were taken during his expeditions as well as a copy of one of their journey planners.
Project: A member of Palm Holdings purchased the Channings hotel in December 2010. The purchase is an addition to our portfolio of unique and individualistic hotels in Edinburgh, and has led to the creation of "The Edinburgh Collection".
